Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Paralegal certification with 2 years of paralegal experience
Minimum 2 years of basic computer skills
Must be at least 18 years old
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Experience with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw is highly desired
Experience developing programs and procedures is highly desired
NFPA Paralegal Competency Certification or NALA CLA/CP certification preferred
Associate degree or higher in Paralegal Studies preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Process incoming Public Records Requests within required timelines
Research and analyze statutes judicial decisions and legal codes related to public records
Apply Indiana Code to determine release or denial of records requests
Review and redact body and dash camera footage per Indiana Code requirements
Review Indiana Code and Administrative Code for potential language updates
Coordinate documentation related to subpoenas and discovery requests
Maintain proper indexing and filing of legal documents
Answer phone calls for Legal Office personnel
Perform additional duties as assigned
