Work involves the responsibility for the operational functions of the Regional EMS system with primary focus being EMS with direct oversight of Shift Operations -worker works closely with the Executive Director and Medical Director on short- and long-range budget preparation and adherence to expectations; development of operational structure and staffing; projection of needs service expansion and delivery; and overseeing daily operations. Scope of work includes recruiting hiring training and coaching/counseling for -worker may assist with response and liaison on major responses to coordinate the activities with partner the Executive Directors absence assumes responsibility for all EMS operational issues working in close partnership other key EMS leaders. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his/her responsibilities and integrate into his/her style of management the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering respect for human life and the dignity of each person applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he/she has responsibility. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:


Licensure: State of practice Paramedic licensure. Valid state of practice Drivers license.
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as a Paramedic. Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Certification/Registration: BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent. Advanced Cardiac Life Support or equivalent. Pediatric Advanced Life Support or equivalent. International Trauma Life Support or equivalent. ICS.

Other: Ability to work in a variety of conditions and locations to include office hospital/clinic patient home ambulance and the variety of weather that comes with working in the field setting. Ability to use technology required to complete administrative tasks provide education and host/lead meetings. Incumbents will be required to successfully satisfy the physical demands of the role. This will include a pre-hire and annual fitness for duty test.
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree.
Preferred Experience: Greater than 10 years experience working in emergency services.
Preferred Certification/Registration: Completion of FEMA Professional Development Series.
