Job Overview
The Operational Accounting Coordinator supports the daily operational accounting activities related to the Credit Unions ATM/ITM network Shared Branching services and electronic banking operations. This role helps maintain the accuracy and efficiency of transaction processing reconciliations and other operational accounting functions. By monitoring activity researching exceptions and assisting with key banking systems the Operational Accounting Coordinator contributes to a positive member experience and the smooth operation of electronic banking services. The position works closely with internal departments to support operational processes ensure compliance with established procedures and help maintain effective operational controls.
Responsibilities

  • Monitors balances and reconciles ATM/ITM networks and Shared Branching activity to ensure accuracy and system integrity
  • Performs reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts and makes necessary accounting adjustments
  • Identifies and assists in resolving ATM/ITM outages and network issues in coordination with internal and external partners
  • Maintains records procedures and documentation related to ATM/ITM operations Shared Branching activities and related accounting processes
  • Processes and resolves transaction discrepancies disputes and adjustments related to electronic banking channels
  • Reviews and approves wire transfers for proper approvals member identification Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) etc.
  • Analyzes ATM/ITM and Shared Branch performance data and recommends improvements to processes systems and vendor configurations
  • Processes and records financial transactions ensuring data is accurately entered into financial systems and reflected in financial reporting
  • Supports implementation of new technologies products and services in partnership with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Serves as a liaison between branches Member Contact Center and operational teams for ATM/ITM-related issues and corrections
  • Serves as a resource to peers on ATM/ITM balancing procedures and best practices
  • Supports operational improvement efforts while ensuring timely accurate completion of reconciliations adjustments and assigned operational tasks
Minimum Required Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 years of experience in accounting operations banking operations reconciliation support electronic banking financial services and/or related transferable experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or specialized training in accounting finance or related field
  • 2 years of experience in operational accounting ATM/ITM operations electronic banking support and/or reconciliation activities
  • Experience working in a credit union banking financial services or other highly regulated environment
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
A representation of the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting reconciliation processes and operational accounting practices
  • Knowledge of ATM/ITM operations electronic banking systems card processing networks and Shared Branching activities
  • Skilled in analyzing financial and operational data to identify discrepancies trends and transaction issues
  • Skilled in troubleshooting operational balancing and system-related issues while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and daily operational deadlines through effective organization and time management
  • Skilled in communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with branches vendors and operational teams
  • Ability to maintain accuracy attention to detail and sound judgment in a high-volume operational environment
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support operational efficiency and system integrity
Work Environment
Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this jobs functions.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee works in normal office working conditions
  • This position will be eligible to work from home up to 4 days per week with the expectation of in-office business hours as needed to include team meetings and team building sessions
