Open-Rank Clinical Fixed-Term Faculty (3)

Position Summary
This posting is for three (3) open-rank Practicum Education fixed-term faculty positions. By applying applicants will be considered for all available vacancies. The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for three open-rank Practicum Education fixed-term faculty positions (1.0 FTE ). The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity transform systems and improve lives. The curriculum supports this mission through a focus on evidence-based practice; commitment to disadvantaged vulnerable and oppressed individuals families and communities; and the design implementation and evaluation of social interventions. These positions will be reviewed annually for reappointment. We seek candidates to coordinate practicum education and teach graduate-level social work courses. Successful applicants will contribute to practicum education across a range of social work practice areas and teach up to four graduate courses per year. Candidates should possess broad social work practice experience and expertise with the ability to teach in generalist practice and either direct practice or macro practice specialization courses. Preferred qualifications may vary across positions and may include expertise in assessment and intervention with individuals families groups communities and organizations; experience in practicum education; an LCSW credential; macro-level practice experience; and demonstrated success teaching graduate-level courses or professional training programs. These positions have a standard distribution of effort consisting of 90% teaching and instruction and 10% service and community engagement.

Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 5 years post- MSW practice experience; a superior record of teaching and training; and the ability to integrate research and scholarship into course development assignments and lectures. Experience working with social work students in practice or practicum placement settings is beneficial. Professional experience in direct practice or macro social work and teaching CMPP or direct concentration courses are preferred. Special consideration will be given to those with qualifications and experience in both areas enabling them to teach across the curriculum. Applicants should have demonstrated skill and experience teaching graduate-level classes including traditional classroom online and seminar formats as well as supervising students in practicum placements. Relationship-building skills and knowledge of North Carolina communities are also preferred.
