Grand Forks County is seeking a dependable detail-oriented Office Support Assistant to join the Sheriffs Office on or around October 26 2026. This position provides a wide range of clerical and administrative support and serves as an important point of contact for the public law enforcement agencies and other government partners.

The Office Support Assistant is responsible for maintaining and processing law enforcement records entering and verifying information responding to public inquiries processing reports and requests coordinating prisoner transportation processing permits and other documents and providing general administrative support to the Sheriffs Office. This position requires sound judgment attention to detail discretion and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment where priorities may change throughout the day.

The position also supports law enforcement operations by monitoring radio communications relaying messages and information to field personnel assisting with severe weather and emergency-related information and coordinating prisoner transportation requests from law enforcement agencies courts and treatment facilities.

Starting Rate: $20.72 per hour

Status and Hours

Full-time (based on 40 hours per week) Monday through Friday benefit eligible. There might be a variation in work hours and days to support the department and County needs. This position is not eligible for teleworking.

Selection Process

Prospective employees may undergo a thorough background investigation including a medical and drug/ alcohol screening.
