Occupational Therapist – Arbour Fuller Hospital

Salary: $88000-$94000

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and recommendations as a member of the Developmental Disabilities Program at Arbour-Fuller to adults admitted to the unit.

• Provide OT assessment and recommendations to individuals being treated on the unit.
• Coordinates and/or provides training for staff working with individuals with developmental disabilities on his/her caseload.
• Facilitate case consultation with an individuals treatment team.
• Participate in daily clinical rounds with the units team.
• Participate in discharge planning when special training is required.
• Proactively identifies clinical risks and potential safety issues for clients.
• Ensure comprehensive and continuous communication between staff clients families and programs.
• Ensure an environment that promotes safety and treatment
• Practice his/her work consistent with the philosophy of the Advocates Way and Intentional Care Performance standards.
• Maintain documentation/record keeping in accordance with agency and hospital guidelines
• Provide an environment of quality service by meeting or exceeding the needs of the client vendor community and agency.
• Attend and actively participates in supervision staff team and family meetings.
• Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications required by Advocates and/or Arbour Fuller Hospital
• Ensure that individuals we support are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.
• Actively participate and attend trainings supervision and team meetings
• Follow agency and appropriate licensing policies regarding professional ethics and confidentiality.

• MA degree in Occupational Therapy and 2-3 years experience.
• Current valid Commonwealth of MA license in Occupational Therapy.
• Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and ability to use good judgment.
• Must have strong computer knowledge.
• Sensitivity to clients and the ability to treat them with dignity and respect.
• Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations
• High energy level superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
• Must hold a valid drivers license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport people served by the program
