Position : Network Security Analyst I Vulnerability Remediation & Change Coordination Analyst
Location : Austin Texas Hybrid (Onsite and Telework) Need Local only/Within 50 Miles

Position Overview
The client is seeking an experienced Network Security Analyst I to support enterprise-wide vulnerability remediation initiatives across critical server environments. This role focuses on coordinating remediation activities for vulnerabilities that cannot be addressed through standard patch management processes.
The selected candidate will serve as the primary liaison between Cyber Security Operations Server Operations teams and Change Management stakeholders to ensure that high-risk vulnerabilities are remediated effectively documented appropriately and implemented through approved change management procedures.
This position emphasizes coordination tracking communication and governance rather than hands-on patch deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Vulnerability Remediation Coordination
Review and manage vulnerability remediation assignments within ServiceNow IT Remediation Workspace.
Coordinate remediation efforts for emergency high-risk and exception-based vulnerabilities.
Act as the central point of communication among Security Operations Infrastructure teams and other stakeholders.
Track remediation activities to ensure timely closure in accordance with organizational policies.
Ensure compliance with established vulnerability management processes and procedures.
ServiceNow Administration & Documentation
Create update and maintain:
o Vulnerability Remediation Tasks (VUL)
o Associated Change Requests
o Related Configuration Items (CIs)
Document remediation plans implementation procedures testing outcomes and rollback strategies.
Validate that remediation activities meet audit and process requirements before change submission.
Coordinate remediation activities across multiple teams using ServiceNow workflows.
Change Management & CAB Participation
Prepare and submit Standard and Normal Change Requests related to vulnerability remediation activities.
Present remediation plans to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) including:
o Security risk assessments
o Impact analysis
o Remediation strategies
o Validation and testing approaches
o Rollback procedures
Address CAB inquiries and coordinate follow-up actions to obtain approvals.
Ensure approved changes are scheduled and executed within established maintenance windows.
Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to understand remediation requirements while maintaining oversight of the overall process.
Reporting and Compliance
Maintain detailed records of:
o Outstanding vulnerabilities
o Change approvals
o Implementation activities
o Validation evidence and closure documentation
Develop status reports and metrics for leadership and compliance reviews.
Support audit requests by providing complete and accurate remediation evidence.
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to remediation workflows.
Required Qualifications
3 years Coordinating server vulnerability remediation within enterprise environments
3 years Hands-on experience with ServiceNow including Change Management and IT Remediation Workspace
3 years Knowledge of change management processes and CAB presentations
3 years Understanding of Windows Server Linux Server and Citrix environments
3 years Strong organizational skills managing multiple remediation efforts simultaneously
3 years Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience supporting vulnerability remediation within government or highly regulated environments.
Familiarity with vulnerability management processes involving:
o Cyber Security Operations Centers (CSOC)
o Infrastructure teams
o Application support teams
Experience coordinating emergency or out-of-band remediation activities.
Knowledge of audit processes and security evidence collection.
Demonstrated success in reducing remediation timelines for critical vulnerabilities.
Experience producing CAB-approved change records with complete documentation.
Ability to maintain clear auditable tracking from vulnerability assignment through closure.
Experience improving remediation coordination across diverse technology platforms.
