DEPARTMENT: Information Technology HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. LOCATION: City Hall 632 W 6th Ave 4th Floor Anchorage AK 99501
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.
To be considered for employment candidates must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship including Student Visas and Employment Visas under any circumstances.
Example of Duties
The Network Administrator is responsible for installing configuring and maintaining complex network systems including switches routers firewalls voice platforms emergency communications and systems supporting security and access control. Provides technical leadership to network technicians and assigns and reviews their work. The position manages wired wireless and cellular networks; monitors performance; assists with capacity planning and optimization; and develops troubleshooting procedures. Additional responsibilities include administering network management tools applying patches and hardware updates and ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests. Performs other duties as assigned.
