What Youll Do
- Perform acceptance commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV
- Conduct power system studies including short circuit coordination arc flash and power quality analysis
- Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical solid-state and microprocessor-based)
- Perform insulation resistance power factor and contact resistance testing on transformers switchgear cables and circuit breakers
- Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
- Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
- Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field
- Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
- Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards NFPA 70E and OSHA safety requirements
Required:
- NETA Level III or Level IV Certification (current and in good standing)
- 7 years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments
- Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards
- Proficiency with test equipment: Doble Megger Omicron Dranetz SKF and equivalent
- Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams three-line diagrams schematics and P&IDs
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record
- Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%)
Preferred:
- NETA Level IV Certification
- NICET Certification
- Experience with SF6 breaker maintenance
- Power systems engineering or related degree
- Prior leadership/supervisory experience on testing projects
- Experience in data center utility or industrial critical power environments
The anticipated salary range for this role in the CA Cleveland- OH CO CT NYC MA ME MD NJ HI IL MN VA VT Washington D.C localities are between $154709 to $198000 per year salary ranges for other geographic localities may roles are eligible for additional rewards including merit increases annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role addition certain roles also have the opportunity to receive and/or participate in profit sharing allowances travel and/or car expenses and earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the employees role and individual offer details. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program including medical dental vision disability PTO holiday pay and 401k.
