The MRO Site Sourcing Leader will be responsible for leading Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) Sourcing for our Schenectady NY site. The Site Sourcing Leader will lead competitive bids and negotiations consistent with established commodity strategies to drive the best quality delivery pricing and commercial terms with key suppliers. The Site Sourcing Leader will also partner with GEV functional stakeholders in Manufacturing Process Engineering Finance Supply-Chain and other functions to drive excellent service levels to the organization and ensure suppliers fit their needs. The Site Sourcing Leader will report to the MRO Global Category Leader and will collaborate with other Sourcing team members to coordinate sourcing efforts drive RFQ processes and supplier selection for assigned projects as applicable. This will be an onsite position located in Schenectady NY.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Global and Regional Commodity Leaders to develop negotiation strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
- Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies.
- Utilizes in-depth subject-matter knowledge analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
- Acts as a resource for internal stakeholders and less experienced colleagues. Explains information; ensures adherence to sourcing policies and procedures
- Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality volume timeliness etc.).
- Uses judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Job Family Group/Function).
- 3-5 years of experience in a supply chain or sourcing role.
- 3-5 years of experience in negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to implement and drive process improvements.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to set and execute priorities.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in strategic sourcing.
- Experience in MRO sourcing.
- Experience in maintenance or tool crib operations
- Established project management skills.
- Strong data analysis / Excel skills.
- Six sigma certification or experience with Lean tools.
- Ability to forecast and analyze usage data and establish min/max inventory levels
