Middle School Coed Cross Country Coach

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will coach middle school age children in the sport of cross country. Collaborate with the Athletic Director or designee regarding practice activities/strategies. Implement daily practice activities for students. Coordinate game schedules. Accompany and supervise team at home and away games. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a positive learning environment and effective management structures to purposefully promote and foster effective teaching learning and student achievement. Create a learning environment that establishes routines and provides for student engagement through questioning speculation and originality. Collaborate with specialists and provide unique learning opportunities for students with special needs. Promote a learning environment respecting the dignity of the child that is perceived by students as fair and consistent. Incorporate additional learning opportunities for advanced and non-proficient students. Ensure all processes procedures and data collection are organized and effective with optimal use of time. Motivate engage and empower learners to track and monitor his/her fitness.

Provide quality accurate constructive corrective specific and timely feedback to students that encourages them to perform at their highest level. Utilize technology and/or other avenues to communicate to stakeholders (website podcasts etc).

Actively participate in staff meetings. Apply and implement knowledge skills and new understandings to improve programming. Advocate for and lead initiatives that will enhance student success in and out of school. Use professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making in practice.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possible supervision of support personnel.
Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interview participation training/development assign and direct work performance feedback address complaints and resolve problems.

BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently.
Create and implement effective and efficient process management strategies (e.g. procedures equipment materials and supplies).
Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards state guidelines and school system policy.
Review processes for improvement opportunities and make changes as needed to ensure quality of program.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree.
Coach fluency will be determined through the interview process and licensure.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Colorado Drivers License.
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) Certification.
Valid Colorado Teaching License BOC (Board of Certification) ASEP (American Sport Education Program) Certification or equivalent.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent lifting 10 (ten) to 20 (twenty) pounds.
Occasional lifting of up to one hundred fifty (150) pounds.
Frequent sitting bending walking and standing.
Occasional stooping kneeling squatting and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mostly clean and comfortable occasional dirt or dust temperature extremes noise.
Occasional exposure to adverse climate and weather conditions.
May encounter bodily fluids.

REPORTS TO:
Athletic Director or designee.

LOCATION:
Englewood Middle School.

STIPEND:

Stipend placement $1228.61 - 1652.27 per season depending on comparable experience paid at the close of the season.
