Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administer to augment anexisting team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) activities for commercial and custom-developed education learning and training applications. Belay Technologies is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administer to augment anexisting team providing Life Cycle Sustainment (LCS) activities for commercial and custom-developed education learning and training applications. The role requires a self-motivated individual that is comfortable working in a team environment. This position will require working on a fast-paced team and a willingness to take on challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform database patching and vulnerability remediation in alignment with IAVA requirements including compliance reporting across enterprise database systems.
- Maintainand administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (various versions) across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructures.
- Provide troubleshooting maintenance and operational support for database systems including performance tuning query optimization and issue resolution.
- Execute database patching upgrades backups restores and routine maintenance to ensure data integrity availability and system reliability.
- Implement and manage database security including user access controls roles permissions and encryption standards.
- UtilizeT-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation of database administration monitoring and reporting tasks.
- Leverage AWS services including RDS EC2 Lambda and CloudFormation to deploy manage andoptimizecloud-hosted database solutions.
- Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Ansible and Terraform for database provisioning configuration management and automation.
- Develop andmaintaindatabase automation scripts and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve performance and uptime.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph
- A bachelors degree in a technical discipline and then (10) years of experience as a DBA.
- Fourteen (14) years of experience as a DBA may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency in managing SQL Server Databases
- Must be able to work during core hours of M-F 10am-2pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 1
Candidates are desired to have the following skills:
- Experience with PowerShell scripting language
- Experience in SharePoint migrations
- Ability to clearly communicate ambiguous orhighly complexconcepts to all audiences
