Nucor Steel Kingman is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Metallurgist. Principal duties include participating in safety commercial excellence and continuous improvement of the rolling and melting processes as well as driving overall quality improvement throughout the facility. The successful candidate will support process and product development initiatives training efforts and the use of statistical process control tools. The Quality team works to identify quality trends determine root causes and implement corrective actions that support product quality and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with individuals from a variety of technical operational and leadership backgrounds. They are confident in asking questions proactive in seeking understanding attentive to details and capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities. This teammate will partner with the Roll Mill and Melt Shop to establish clearly defined processes that meet customer expectations while supporting the divisions objectives for safety quality productivity and profitability.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- Communication Skills- The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand.
- Organizing Planning and Prioritizing Work- Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing organizing and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team.

- Bachelors degree in metallurgical engineering
- Steel industry experience
- Experience using SQL Power BI ibaAnalyzer or similiar for data analysis reporting and process monitoring
