Job Summary

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivatedMechanical Engineer to support the design development and manufacturing of custom mechanical components and assemblies for a diverse range of customers. This role will work closely with customers and internal manufacturing teams to transform engineering drawings specifications and concepts into high-quality manufacturable products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain MRP / ERP data relating to Engineering.
  • Design and develop mechanical components systems and equipment.
  • Fixture / tooling design.
  • Sheet metal design / build to print.
  • Build to print manufacturing.
  • Create engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks or Inventor).
  • Perform engineering calculations simulations and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct testing and analyze performance to improve product reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing quality and project teams to ensure successful product development.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards safety regulations and customer requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports specifications and documentation.
  • Support installation commissioning and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Manage project timelines budgets and resources when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and Inventor.
  • Experience reading and interpreting Engineering drawings.
  • 3-5 years of experience with an emphasis in design and manufacturing.
  • MRP / ERP experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles materials manufacturing processes and thermodynamics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and quality management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sheet metal design.
  • GD&T experience.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (preferably Mechanical Manufacturing or Industrial).
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a Manufacturing or Process Engineering role.
  • Experience with specifications and standards in the aerospace and semiconductor industries including but not limited to AS9100 ISO9001 & Copy Exact (Locked Processes)
  • Experience with and trained in Lean methodologies including but not limited to; 6S SMED VSM Visual Management / Visual Factory Problem Solving (A3) Standard Work Mistake-Proofing and TPM.
  • Hands on experience with machining processes preferably with multi-axis milling and turning.
  • Experience using ERP and MES software preferably Infor10 ERP (Syteline) and ShopVue.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with strong MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
