The Services Instrumentation and Controls C10 / C35.6 systems engineer is responsible for designing developing and testing Instrumentation and Control (I&C) platforms and systems that control safety critical functions for the BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. This role requires technical problem solving requirements management and effective communication/collaboration with other teams and engineering disciplines.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering physics and materials science for the design analysis manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
• A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
• Demonstrate accountability for cost schedule quality and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
• Document requirements and ensure designs meet requirements.
• Accountable for system designs.
• Engage customers to define scope review results and discuss technical risks.
• Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE engineering procedures.
• Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline. Communicate effectively to leadership the status of work activities.
• Effectively manage multiple priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• 2 years of experience in mechanical design in highly regulated industry.

Additional Information

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $80000.00 and $120000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
