Job Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer
Location:Foster City CA
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop thermal systems and components including HVAC modules ducts hoses heat exchangers and related cooling components.
- Perform thermal analysis and simulations to validate system performance under various operating conditions
- Work on and design plastic and metal components including material selection design for manufacturability (DFM) and tooling considerations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CAE manufacturing suppliers) to optimize designs
- Support build and coordinate prototype builds testing and validation of thermal systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve thermal performance issues during development and production phases
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical documentation
- Release the designed parts as part of the design and development activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3 years of experience in automotive thermal systems or related domain
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems heat exchangers and air duct design
- Experience working with plastic components and injection molding processes
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g. CATIA NX or SolidWorks)
- Understanding of thermal and fluid dynamics principles
- Experience with CAE tools for thermal analysis is a plus
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
