Material Handler Night Shift- 2-2-3 Schedule

The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material throughout the site. This may include loading/unloading of trucks and movement of raw materials work in process and finished goods. 

This role will be D Shift 2-2-3 working 7pm-7am.

Essential functions may include but are not limited to: 

• Move material to/from raw WIP Finished Shipping Receiving and manufacturing areas. 

• Unload/load trucks with incoming/outgoing materials. - Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents. 

• Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.

• Support inventory accuracy: Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies and help manage winding drum and rack inventories

• Raw/Finishing warehouse: Pick up and transfer material racks pallets and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required. Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping

• Perform all assignments duties and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices. Encourage others to do so. Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately. 

• Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.

• Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed. 

• Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations. 

• Lead in the recycling of pallets cardboard and scrap materials. 

• Support all 5S housekeeping activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications :

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3 years of relevant manufacturing work experience.

• Able to follow written and oral instruction. 

• Regard safety as a core value; serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices policies and procedures. 

• Strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause then communicate / education team in a timely manner.

• Able to actively contribute in a team based environment; encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal. 

• Demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills. 

• Demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus. 

• Able and willing to work overtime including short-notice requests. 

• Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications especially strong inventory tracking system transactional skills. Must be able to obtain Lift Truck Operators license. 

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
