Job Summary

DPP is seeking a Mass Properties Engineer II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry.

Work location: Onsite in Vandalia OH
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 Contract
Work authorization: US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance

Position Summary:
  • As a Mass Properties Engineer II you will research design develop test certify deploy and support cutting edge products & services. These cover a very wide range from state-of-the-art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.
  • Youll be responsible for developing complex aerodynamic components structures and systems.
  • Your technical responsibilities involve design and development analysis and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed mass properties calculations and analyses for aerospace components and systems.
  • Develop and maintain mass properties models and databases.
  • Conduct and oversee mass properties testing and validation.
  • Inventory and weigh aircraft.
  • Generate aircraft weight and balance paperwork.
  • Collaborate with design and analysis teams to incorporate mass properties data into project workflows.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degrees may substitute for experience.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
  • Experience in aircraft inventory.
  • Experience in mass properties calculations analysis modeling and testing
  • Have the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced mass properties analysis software and tools.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles to include but not limited to parametric design model-based definition fundamentals of flight mechanics.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
