Journeys End Marina has been in Rockland Maine for over 30 years. The parent company OHara Corporation has been in the maritime industry for over 100 years operating fishing boats around the country. Starting in Boston as Francis J. OHara and Sons.

In the 1990s the fishing industry declined on the East coast and the fishing boats moved west which left acres of waterfront property vacant. Fearing the loss of Rocklands historic working waterfront OHara Corporation purchased the unused processing plants. This marked the beginning of a vision that has become Journeys End Marina. A first-class marina for all boating needs. Our clients travel from all over the world to store their boats and yachts with us!

Journeys End Marina is looking for an experienced Service Manager for a full-time year-round position. Successful candidates must be organized have experience with service management and people skills. Able to operate in an environment where the customers want and expect quality work on a timely basis. Marine industry and boating experience are essential. Candidate must have an understanding of small boat handling and Microsoft office Suite experience is preferred.

This is a full-time Salary exempt position.

Education and Experience

• Highschool or GED diploma preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Computer skills required
• Knowledge of marine mechanical & electrical systems
• Passionate about having outstanding customer interactions.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.

Job Summary

• Meeting with supervisors to help manage and triage daily and seasonal workloads
• Provide clients with job updates and scope of work challenges
• Work with ownership to devise best practices for safety
• Securing seasonal storage opportunities & prospective winter work
• Mitigate loss of production & complications through extensive client communications.
• Work well as part of a close-knit team.

Essential Functions

• Understand and follow instructions directions and safety rules in English.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit walk talk and hear; handle or operate objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
• Ability to lift/carry at least 50 pounds.
