Under direct supervisionestablishesand enforces child support obligations of responsible parents. Coordinates child supportactivities with legaljudicialand public organizations.
Job Description (General Summary): DCSS is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs to include but not limited to Fatherhood Prison Re-Entry and Parental Accountability Court. All of these outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing non-custodial parental involvement in the childs life.
Role and Responsibilities:
Manages the development and administration of a child support branch office including establishing and enforcing support orders and investigative compliance legal and clerical support activities. Child Support Services Managers have department-wide responsibilities for various child support programs and as members of the divisions management team; help determine the divisions overall direction. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.
- Plans administers and maintains the operation of child support services programs
- Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved
- Assures agency compliance with policies appropriate documentation and reporting requirements
- Builds and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with
- other agencies and providers
- Interviews hires directs trains evaluates the performance of and when necessary disciplines and discharges social services employees
- Manages human resources and directs administrative activities
- Reviews of new and current programs to determine their efficiency effectiveness and compliance with state local and federal regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related area from an accredited college or universityandtwo (2) years of subordinate supervisory experience in a human service delivery program or related program;
or
- Two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Child Support Services Supervisor (SST064) or position equivalent;
or
- Four (4) years of experience at the lower-level Child Support Services Agent 3 (SST062);
or
- Three (3) years of experience at the lower level Child Support Services Agent 4 (SST063)
