Description

Talpa Supermercados is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Bilingual) to join our team at our Stone Mountain location and up to 50% travel. This full-time on-site role is ideal for an Associate-level candidate who takes pride in maintaining a safe clean and well-functioning retail environment. As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance troubleshooting repairs and ensuring that the stores facilities equipment and systems remain operational. You will work closely with store leadership and team members to address maintenance requests quickly and efficiently helping create a positive shopping experience for customers and a safe workplace for employees.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections of the store facility including lighting flooring doors restrooms parking areas and building exterior.
  • Complete maintenance work orders promptly including basic plumbing electrical carpentry painting and drywall repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair retail equipment such as refrigerated cases shelving shopping carts registers and other store machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests during store hours in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections repairs parts inventory and maintenance logs.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies OSHA standards and local building codes.
  • Assist with store remodels resets and special projects as needed.
  • Communicate maintenance issues and recommendations clearly with management and bilingual team members.
  • Keep the maintenance shop tools and equipment organized and in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Associate-level experience in maintenance facilities building trades or a similar hands-on role.
  • Bilingual communication skills are required for this role.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing electrical HVAC and general building repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools power tools diagnostic equipment and maintenance software or apps.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety cleanliness and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Stone Mountain location with a full-time schedule including occasional weekends or evenings if needed.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds stand walk climb ladders and perform labor-intensive tasks.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal with a customer-service mindset.
  • Reliable punctual and able to work independently or as part of the team.
  • Having reliable transportation and sufficient vehicle space to transport maintenance equipment as needed is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift carry push and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently climb ladders.
  • Work overhead and below waist level.
  • Frequent standing walking kneeling bending crawling and reaching.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work inside refrigerated and freezer environments for limited periods.
  • Frequent travel between company locations.
Education & Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
  • Experience in general maintenance carpentry plumbing electrical or mechanical repairs.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred:

  • Grocery warehouse or retail maintenance experience.
  • HVAC plumbing electrical or refrigeration certifications.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
