The Machine Parts Inspector II(CMM Programmer) is responsible for performing detailed inspections on a variety of precision and complex in-process and finished machined parts highly complex components castings forgings fabricated sheet metal parts and hardware. Key responsibilities include:
Mechanical inspection of parts including first article in-process and final.
Verification of materials and processes and verification of certifications from sub-tier vendors.
Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to AS9100 standards).
Performance of various other quality tasks as required to ensure the timely delivery of precision machined parts to the customer.
Use manual and programmable Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) to obtain precision measurements.
Program and Operation of programmable CMM equipment and part setup instruction files.
Experience in the use of 3D scanning equipment software and data management is desirable
Documenting inspection results by completing forms logs and reports.
Train and mentor other inspectors and perform related duties as necessary to comply with AS9100 military and customer specifications.
Cleanliness of the work area and proper handling of tools equipment and stock to prevent damage or loss
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of 6 years of mechanical inspection or machining experience.
Proficiency in the operation and management of CMM and associated software.
Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.
Proficient in advanced job shop mathematical calculations and basic measurement tools.
Excellent time-management organizational and communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Requires bending reaching and lifting of objects within V2X EHSS guidelines.
Basic computer skills.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
