Lubrication Technician

Job Summary

A Lube Technician plays a critical role in the maintenance and operation of machinery. These techniciansare responsible forprovidingtechnical resourcesand field servicesforaplant lubrication programwithprimary areas of focus including equipment lubrication surveysoptimizinglubrication schedulesmaintaininghistorical records inventory management procedure standardization and equipment servicing.

Direct Reports/ Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities

• MaintainsLubrication database including initial survey input service history and schedule optimization.

• Watches for equipment changes so that the database is kept current with the latest status.

• Maintainssystemof work assessment to support resource budgeting backlog management and priority determination.

• Completes used oil samplingpackagingand report assessments.

• Supportsdown dayand EOM worklist according to schedules.

• Supports mechanical maintenance technicians and area maintenance leads with risk management controls and reliability improvements relating to lubrication considerations including used oil condition assessment.

• Interacts with the Vibration Technician and Reliability Engineer on lube issues related to lubrication optimization and risk control measures.

• Maintains sufficient inventory of lubrication products tooling and supplies.

• Completes month-end inventory counting and reporting.

• Completes month-end backlog assessment and reporting.

• Works with Reliability Engineer todetermineOEM specification substitutions to support product compatibility and inventory consolidation.

• Completes housekeeping andupkeepof lube room and used oil areas.

• Followsup on Lubrication worksheet comments with maintenanceWRto resolve issues.

• Participates inDown day/Shutdown work planning by providing priority updates proceduredetailsand scheduling considerations for lubrication work.

• Coordinates with maintenance planners and area maintenance leads tooptimizeequipment PMs and work practices in areas of expertise.

• Provides plant-wide mechanical maintenance support on an as-needed basis.

• Supports and promotes the Arauco Asset Reliability Process (ARP).

• Activelyparticipatesin operationsqualityand maintenance initiatives.

• Maintain a clean environment for all lubrication storage areas.

• Keep toolingsuppliesand manuals in usable condition and in proper storage.

• When directly overseeing contractor workcompletesContractor Work Permits and Laser Formslockoutandpermitdocumentation.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• AHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Previousexperience as a Lube Technician is beneficial but not alwaysrequiredfor entry-level positions. On-the-job training is often provided.

• Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance principles isadvantageous.

• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move automotive equipment and perform tasks in various weather conditions.

• Attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks with precision to ensure the proper maintenance of vehicles.

• Strong communicationskills to interact with customers and team members effectively.

• Adaptability and a willingness to learn and follow instructions.

• Commitment to safety and the ability to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• LubeTechnicians must be physically fit and capable of performing tasks that may include standing for extended periods bending and lifting must have the ability to climb and work at heights asneededincluding mobile ladders and aerial with tools Heavy pipereachwork and pipefittingchecking on equipment.

• Ability to work in both hot andcold weatherenvironments as needed.

• Must be comfortable moving throughoutlargemanufacturing environment with multiple buildings.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. asrequired.
