Location: Chicago IL. This position begins with an in-office onboarding period for the first 90 days. After onboarding the role transitions to a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office offering a strong balance of collaboration and flexibility.

Note: Candidates must have 3 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal and be comfortable managing court filings litigation documents case deadlines discovery and multiple active matters. Employment law experience is a plus but it is not required.

Job Description

  • E-file pleadings and other documents with state and federal courts.
  • Draft demand letters complaints motions discovery requests discovery responses and other litigation documents.
  • Assist with administrative agency charges and responses including matters involving the EEOC and similar agencies.
  • Review organize and index discovery materials.
  • Manage multiple client matters case activity deadlines and file documentation with limited supervision.
  • Calculate litigation deadlines and maintain accurate calendars within case management systems.
  • Conduct occasional legal research and assist attorneys with case preparation.
  • Communicate professionally with clients attorneys opposing counsel co-counsel courts and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain timely billing entries and support an average billing expectation of approximately 25 hours per week.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute ideas and solutions to litigation challenges.
  • Assist with training and supporting new team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of litigation paralegal experience required.
  • Strong litigation drafting e-filing calendaring discovery and case management skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking organization communication and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to independently prioritize multiple time-sensitive matters while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office case management systems and electronic court filing platforms.
  • Strong written communication research and analytical skills.
  • Employment law experience preferred.
  • Experience with EEOC or similar administrative agency matters preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Supervisory training or mentoring experience strongly preferred.
