NHC HealthCare Anniston is seeking a compassionate energetic and dedicated Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team.

The Life Enrichment Assistant helps provide meaningful recreational opportunities designed to meet the physical social mental emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and residents while creating an atmosphere of fun engagement and enjoyment.

The ideal candidate is mature self-motivated dependable and has a genuine passion for working with seniors.

Position Responsibilities

Assist and support the Life Enrichment/Recreation Director in assessing each patient or resident to identify individual interests preferences and activity needs.

Assist with planning and providing therapeutic programs designed to meet each individuals needs.

Provide activities that support the physical social mental emotional and spiritual well-being of patients and residents.

Participate in individualized one-on-one programs for patients and residents as appropriate.

Encourage participation and create an engaging positive and enjoyable environment.

Build positive relationships with patients residents families community members and NHC partners.

Assist with maintaining positive community and public relations.

Support the Life Enrichment/Recreation Director with departmental programs events and activities.

Follow NHC standards policies procedures and the Better Way culture.

Maintain a professional respectful and supportive approach when working with patients residents families coworkers and leadership.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Ability and desire to work with elderly patients and residents.

Willingness to learn new ideas programs and skills.

Positive attitude and a good sense of humor.

Ability to work effectively with NHC partners families patients residents and members of the community.

Patience strong organizational skills dependability and attention to detail.

Professional appearance and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to assist with occasional weekend or evening programs as needed.
