Position Summary:

Washburn Universitys Allied Health Department invites applications for the position of Physical Therapist Assistant Lecturer with expected start date of August 1 2026. This is a 9-month 3/4-time non-tenure track appointment as a Lecturer. The Allied Health Department offers nationally accredited programs and offerings at multiple levels including associate baccalaureate and masters degrees.

Essential Functions:
Fulfill teaching expectations associated with non-tenure-track appointment. Teach 9-hours per semester (either in-person or online according to departmental needs) or equivalent ¾-time workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
Teach and develop curriculum according to course competencies as assigned and as dependent upon department needs.
Maintain an active unencumbered PT license or PTA certification in the state of Kansas and maintain compliance with the Kansas state practice act.
Maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
Fulfill service expectations associated with non-tenure-track appointment by engaging in service activities in the department school university profession and the community.
Advise students attend meetings and maintain on-campus office hours in accordance with SAS and university policy.
Support Program Director to assure effective program operations.
Participate in accreditation and assessment processes.
Maintain current knowledge of program policies procedures and student progress.
Adhere to all university policies and perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelors degree in a relevant field from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)
Minimum three years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy practice
Must be eligible to hold and maintain an active unencumbered PT license or PTA certification in the state of Kansas and be in compliance with the Kansas state practice act.
Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a relevant field
College/post-secondary teaching experience
Experience in curriculum development instruction evaluation and academic advising
Experience in program planning and assessment
Minimum of two years of experience as a site coordinator of clinical education or clinical instructor in physical therapy or minimum of two years of experience in teaching curriculum development and administration in a physical therapist assistant education program
