As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within Asset & Wealth Management youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.

• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality delivery speed and operational outcomes (e.g. AI-assisted code review/refactoring test strategy acceleration incident/root-cause analysis support) while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding peer review automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.

• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities to improve the value realized by automation.

• Develop test and support secure high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.

• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.

• Work with cloud enablement technologies including AWS and its various services (e.g. ElastiCache Postgres Neptune and S3).

• Perform unit testing and integration testing using AI tools (Copilot and Roo Code) for software components.

• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies and software delivery lifecycle.

• Demonstrated proficiency in modern technical disciplines (e.g. cloud architecture artificial intelligence).

• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.

Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5 years of applied experience.

• Hands-on practical experience with 7 years of experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability.

• Advanced proficiency in programming languages Java J2EE and JavaScript/React.

• Build and maintain responsive high-performance user interfaces using React and AI elements ensuring seamless user experiences across web applications at scale.

• Proficiency in backend frameworks and tooling Spring Boot Spring Cloud Maven Kafka and REST APIs.

• Experience developing microservices architectures with application resiliency and security best practices.

• Proficiency in DevOps and continuous delivery Git Bitbucket Harness CI/CD and automated testing (Playwright).

• Practical cloud-native experience AWS with hands-on use of various services.

• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g. for coding code review test acceleration troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness performance and security.

• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity considerations secure handling of inputs/outputs and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe compliant adoption within delivery practices.

Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skill

• Experience in Java 8/11/17 and object-oriented design and analysis.
• Experience with Unix shell scripting and Python.
• Working experience with AI tools and agents.
• Experience with OpenAI or Claude Code and writing custom skills.
• Investment Accounting and Position Service domain knowledge along with direct communication with the product team and management.
