This position oversees the development and management of reporting and analytics capabilities that support the Operations KPI portfolio. Responsibilities include working closely with stakeholders across the business unit converting business requirements into meaningful data products reports dashboards and performance insights. Responsibilities
Work closely with partners across the business to identify and support reporting needs actively listen andtranslate business needs into data reports and visualization outputs.
Lead the design and development of innovative visualizations and dashboards to meet business needs and work with functional owners to identify patterns trends and performance insights.
Guide functional owners to define and develop KPIs based on industry leading practices.
Evaluate implement and maintain improved reporting and data visualization tools and platforms.
Develop manage and improve reporting framework and processes in line with the NYPAs strategic vision.
Lead the development of and deliver training/best practice guidelines to stakeholders.
Assist with coaching and mentoring junior team members and external resources.
Own Operations contributions to Trustee COO and other executive/Board reports ensuring accurate insightful and strategically aligned content.
Champion a culture of performance and continuous improvement identify systemic issues and lead initiatives to realize measurable benefits across Operations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Data Visualization tools like Tableau Microsoft Power BI.
Deep expertise creating reports dashboards and/or summarizing large amounts of data into actionable intelligence to drive business decisions required.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse audience across business and technical teams and the confidence to present to senior leaders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks across multiple projects with tight deadlines and aggressive goals.
Subject matter knowledge of utilities companies is preferred.
Proven capability in driving cross-functional change management related to new metrics systems and processes including stakeholder engagement training and adoption.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in data preparation reporting analysis and visualization.
Proficiency with tools like Power BI or Tableau Databases MS Excel SharePoint and other office tools etc.
Minimum of 5 years experience as a data analyst developer or lead within an analytics or reporting function.
Degree in Accounting Finance Economics Statistics Engineering Data Analytics Computer Science or a related discipline preferred.
Physical Requirements
Limited travel (less than 15%) required primarily to our generating facilities.
