Job Summary
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the host team to ensure outstanding guest service and smooth seating operations during all shifts. Collaborate with restaurant management servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seamless guest experiences and address any service issues promptly.
- Manage reservations waitlists and guest flow to optimize seating efficiency and minimize wait times.
- Maintain the highest levels of guest service ensuring consistency with the restaurants brand and hospitality standards.
- Assist with scheduling training and performance management of team.
- Ensure accurate completion of daily reports and seating logs.
- Monitor guest feedback related to seating and front-of-house experiences and share with leaders
- Ensure full compliance with health safety and restaurant policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive team environment guiding hosts to work effectively together and support each other. Drive team engagement and development through ongoing coaching mentoring and training initiatives.
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.
- We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
Qualifications :
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant hospitality or upscale food and beverage environment.
- Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations including guest seating management reservation systems and customer service best practices.
- Experience managing guest flow waitlists and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure seamless service. Observant and quick to respond to guest needs and operational challenges while multitasking effectively during busy periods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members. Additional language ability preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for a minimum eight-hour shift with physical capability to handle typical front-of-house duties.
- Capable of twisting reaching bending pushing pulling and carrying items as necessary to support daily operations. Ability to push or lift up to 20 lbs consistently such as chairs menus or equipment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate coach and develop team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of federal state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights occupational safety and health wage and hour issues and labor relations.
- All team members must maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
