What youll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Responsiblefor the full system engineering executionfor theHarvestergasolineRange Extendersystemunderpinning the Scout Traveler SUV and Terra pickup includingthe inverter/ generator engine assembly fuel systems air induction and exhaust subsystems.
  • Conduct regular project reviewsprovidetechnical guidanceand support to the powertrain engineering team.
  • Ensurethat peer DREsand development/ validation engineersrelease work productson-timeby maintaining schedule and communicating critical milestones.
  • Assist DREsin generatingdetailed system and sub-systemtechnical specifications to ensurefunctional objectives are met.
  • Identify risks and escalate to leadership where appropriate to raise awareness and drive action.
  • Track and reportRange Extender systemimperatives including system cost mass and investment.
  • Lead critical action plansfor identified technical andtiming related program risks and lead recovery plan efforts across multiple cross-functional teams where appropriate.
  • Drive innovation in technology solutions design and development methods and advanced materials/ manufacturing.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location inNovi Michigan.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.

  • Bachelorsin Engineering or Engineering Technology. (required)Mastersdegree
  • Strong Powertrain technical fundamentals particularlypassengervehiclestrucksand SUVs
  • 12 years of experiencemanagingcomplex multi-disciplinaryengineering projects with evidence of success bringing programs to life from concept to production
  • Experience with common project/ program management tools such as Gantt charts.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment with colleagues from purchasing manufacturing etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including accountability self-motivation problem solving analytical thinking succinct communication and ability to develop & mutually thrive in working relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience with design release processes of Powertrain components and systems.
  • Experience with internal combustion engine controls and calibration
  • Understanding of root cause analysis tools like fish boneanalysis Is-Is not 3L5Y Red X etc.
  • Knowledgeof powertrainmechanical designprinciplessystem engineering methodologiesCAE methods GD&T3D CAD1D simulation Teamcenterand manufacturing processes.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $160000.00 - $192500.00
