Plans executes and arranges laboratory experiments new techniques and procedures; and performs laboratory techniques relating to scientific research.
- Coordinate repository projects and inform management of status updates regarding re-inventory project
- Bar-code and aliquot specimens with appropriate speed and accuracy
- Perform PBMCs procedure from human blood on various studies
Operates laboratory machines and instruments; and prepares specimens and equipment for use.
- Ensure that reagents are made correctly and that expired reagents or defective products are replaced to ensure validity of patient results
Performs sample management and storage.
- Work with NIA Core Lab Clinical Core Unit to implement storage and distribution of biological samples including blood urine tissue and saliva in the Biorepository for future scientific research
- Receive and log samples 1
Analyzes documents and reports on all procedures performed.
- Create monthly reports with repository updates and sample details
- Store new samples update database and up keep sample and database inventory; monitor and overall sample inventory
- Maintain specimen integrity and verify accuracy of all information 2
- Assign a unique lab sequence number to each specimen according to protocols; assess each specimen for condition liquid or frozen quantity adequate or not adequate and appearance normal hemolyzed icteric lipemic 4
Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Ensure that supplies and consumables are ready and on hand as necessary for maximum efficiency in the laboratory.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments glassware and equipment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of routine and specialized clinical laboratory instruments and equipment in the collection processing description and analysis of specimens according to manufacturer guidelines and corporate departmental procedures
Plan execute and arrange laboratory experiments new techniques and procedures; and performs laboratory techniques relating to scientific research.

Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and initiates purchase orders.
- Monitor and inventory routine laboratory supplies; ensure that supplies are stocked and organized.

- Monitor inventory levels and proper storage of materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Performs routine equipment maintenance.
- Review and maintain equipment records and ensure completion of equipment maintenance according to established schedules; troubleshoot equipment problems; communicate with laboratory staff

- Comply with laboratory SOPs regulatory and safety guidelines and environmental policies and procedures; adhere to SOP and CAP regulations for data input in laboratory information systems storage and retrieval for information 5
- Compose and edit Standard Operating Procedures SOP for the Biorepository in accordance with NIH standards
Analyzes documents and reports on all procedures performed and produces detailed reports for use by senior staff.
- Coordinate with other laboratories for receiving and shipping specimens and report
Performs advanced equipment maintenance.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules.
Trains staff in performing routine laboratory tests and procedures.
- Provide technical help and expertise to lab members.
Provides insights and expertise and recommends new strategies and approaches.
