The Brearley SchoolJunior Varsity (JV) Volleyball Assistant CoachThe Brearley School is an independent K-XII school for girls in New York City known for its academic excellence cross-divisional teaching and commitment to developing and sustaining a diverse equitable inclusive and antiracist community. We welcome candidates for a Part-time JV Volleyball Assistant Coach who will report to the Director of fall preseason/regular season runs from August 20th Nov. team practices/has games on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday 3:305:30 invite interested candidates to apply by completing an application and uploading a cover letter and resume at a high level of competency in sports skill instruction motivation and conduct of practice a sincere interest in the social emotional academic moral-ethical and athletic development of student-athletes; demonstrate that the highest priority is the health safety and welfare of the mission of the school and the Athletics Department while positively and effectively leading the student-athletes and leadership professional behavior and communication in dealings with student-athletes parents staff and and/or assist with all administrative coaching duties including but not limited to:Roster managementGame-day operationsScore ReportingStudent-managersProfessional developmentDistribution and collection of uniformsAttendanceParticipation in school and athletic department special eventsDaily awareness of practice/game travel logisticsExhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to AAIS NYSAIS School Division and Department of Athletics rules and :Bachelors degree; 1-2 years of relevant coaching experience. Previous high school or college playing experience must have excellent verbal written and organizational skills to communicate effectively with student-athletes and must demonstrate enthusiasm for the role of athletics in an independent school setting as well as vision creativity and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented be fully vaccinated and boosted.A stipend is paid for the coaching position at the end of the season.
