W2: Java Developer (Hybrid McLean VA)
Location: McLean VA (Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a high-impact engineering team . The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend developer with 8 years of strong Java development experience and a proven track record of delivering scalable enterprise-grade applications in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Note: Prior Fannie Mae experience is required for this role. Only candidates with previous Fannie Mae project experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain robust scalable applications using Java / J2EE and related frameworks.
Build and consume RESTful APIs / microservices to support enterprise business needs.
Collaborate with architects business analysts and QA teams across the full SDLC in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Write clean efficient and well-tested code; participate in code reviews and design discussions.
Troubleshoot debug and optimize application performance and reliability.
Support deployment CI/CD pipelines and production releases.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8 years of professional software development experience with Core Java / J2EE.
Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with RESTful web services SQL/relational databases and ORM frameworks.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins Git Maven/Gradle) and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving communication and collaboration skills.
Mandatory: Prior Fannie Mae work experience.

Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience in mortgage banking or financial services domains.
Exposure to containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and messaging systems (Kafka).

Work Authorization
Must be able to work onsite in McLean VA 3 days per week (hybrid).
