JOB SUMMARY:
The ISP/OSP Structured Cabling Installer performs physical labor and technical installation tasks associated with Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications projects. Responsibilities include installing and supporting structured cabling systems operating hand and power tools preparing and maintaining work sites performing equipment and cable installations and operating light construction equipment as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install cable pathway systems including cable trays ladder racks J-hooks surface raceways fittings outlet boxes and faceplates.
Install terminate label and document horizontal and backbone copper and fiber-optic cabling systems.
Route secure and dress cables in telecommunications rooms equipment rooms modular furniture systems ceiling spaces and other designated work areas.
Build and organize telecommunications and equipment rooms in accordance with project specifications.
Install firestopping systems for cable penetrations in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Test troubleshoot certify and document copper and fiber-optic cabling installations.
Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies procedures and safe work practices.
Load unload identify and distribute materials equipment machinery and tools according to project requirements.
Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team to meet project schedules and quality standards.
Maintain a professional appearance positive attitude and customer-focused demeanor at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a background check drug and alcohol screening motor vehicle record review and DOT physical examination
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Ability to distinguish colors for cable identification and termination
- Demonstrated ability to safely use hand and power tools. (We are willing to train)
- Ability and willingness to travel including overnight weekend and extended assignments throughout Hawaii the Pacific Basin Alaska and other U.S. locations as needed.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
Preferred
- 13 years of structured cabling experience
- Fiber-optic installation and termination experience
- Industry certifications
- Ability to read blueprints drawings and project specifications.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of telecommunications and fiber-optic installation practices is preferred.
Familiarity with low-voltage construction techniques terminology and overhead/underground construction standards is preferred.
Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform simple calculations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service focus.
Effective troubleshooting problem-solving organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and sound decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:

This position is primarily field-based and requires work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions including heat humidity rain wind and temperature extremes as well as active construction sites telecommunications facilities and customer locations.
Physical requirements include:
- Frequently lifting carrying pushing and pulling materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.
Standing walking bending kneeling crouching reaching and climbing for extended periods.
Working on ladders personnel lifts scaffolding and elevated work surfaces.
Working in confined spaces such as telecommunications closets crawl spaces ceilings vaults and utility access areas.
Operating hand tools power tools testing equipment and company vehicles.
Driving to and between job sites in varying traffic and weather conditions.
Exposure to noise generated by construction equipment power tools and traffic.
Exposure to dust dirt airborne particles cleaning agents and other materials commonly encountered in construction and telecommunications environments.
Ability to maintain situational awareness and focus while working around energized low-voltage systems equipment and active construction environments.
Availability to work overtime weekends evenings and emergency response assignments as business needs require.
COMPENSATION:
Pay range is $18.00 $35.00 per hour based on experience plus benefits and eligibility for overtime.
