Job Summary
The Institute for Protein Design (IPD) research training program introduces UW undergraduates to cutting-edge computational biology research. At the IPD we are creating a new world of proteins to address modern challenges in medicine energy and technology.
- Trainees are expected to dedicate a minimum of 6 hours per week for the duration of the program.
- Trainees are expected to present at least once each quarter.
- This program is not a formal for-credit course but participation in the program may be used as credit for BIOC499 in some cases.
- After completing the program some students may continue at an advanced level helping to mentor new incoming students.
Applicants will have their materials considered for a one-on-one/one-on-two mentorship placement with scientists in the IPD King Lab.
- This experience will take place during the academic year.
- Students will conduct research in partnership with a King Lab researcher.
- Financial stipends will not be available during this period. Participants can still receive academic credit (BIOC 499).
This is a rolling application. All applicants will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and will be contacted the month following the original submission.

To be eligible for the program you must be a currently enrolled UW undergraduate and based on the Seattle campus for the duration of the one-year program.
You must not have participated in a previous IPD undergraduate program.
