About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a contract opportunity at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Riverside in Rockford IL. This role is ideal for a skilled RN with strong Interventional Radiology cardiovascular intervention and critical care experience. The selected candidate will support patient care in the IR setting assist with interventional procedures and participate in an on-call rotation that includes weeknights weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Interventional Radiology setting
Support interventional radiology and cardiovascular procedure workflow
Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams
Perform patient assessments care planning interventions and evaluation of outcomes
Administer medications and treatments according to approved nursing standards policies and procedures
Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with facility standards
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on physician direction and hospital policy
Provide patient and family education based on identified needs and level of understanding
Respond appropriately to complex clinical situations and escalate concerns through the proper chain of command
Support patient safety quality care and a positive patient experience throughout the assignment
Participate in performance improvement peer review shared governance and continuous learning activities
Requirements
Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
3 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of critical care experience preferred
Interventional Radiology experience required
Cardiovascular Intervention experience required
Experience in IR at a Level 1 Trauma Center preferred
BLS / CPR certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Must successfully pass EKG test prior to completion of orientation
EPIC experience preferred
Must be available for 8-hour day shifts with on-call rotation including weeknights weekends and holidays
Holiday coverage required
