Job Summary

Internal Medicine Physician

The Company: Our client is a not-for-profit health care organization that provides affordable primary health care services to the residents of Pinellas County Florida. They currently operate 12 health centers and a Mobile Health Center through Pinellas County.

The Position:
The Physician is responsible for screening diagnoses and treatment of patients and providing care in a sensitive and non-judgmental manner. The Physician will provide treatment adherence counseling and education to patients living with HIV/AIDS. The Physician will meet or exceed all Ryan White standards of care will make appropriate internal and external referrals and is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence while adhering to the highest possible ethical standards. A Physician with Metro is responsible for providing sensitive quality health care and related services targeted to patients requiring treatment for HIV/AIDS Hepatitis C and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The Physician will support the organizations goal in providing care for HIV positive persons underserved communities straight lesbian gay bisexual and transgender communities in all their diversity regardless of their ability to pay.

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree in Medicine from an Accredited School
  • Current Active and Unencumbered Florida State Licensure MD or DO
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. HIVMA or AAHIVM certification Strongly Preferred.
  • Current Federal DEA Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)
  • Provide High Quality Comprehensive Care and Treatment to New and Established Patients
  • Educates Patients on Wellness Prevention and Early Detection by Providing Materials and Resources to Patients and Families.
  • Provide Treatment Adherence Education and Counseling to HIV Positive Patients.
  • Determines Which Referrals Are Required Based on Examination and Patient Needs and Initiates Those Linkages Appropriately.
  • Determines Level of Urgency of Follow-up Referral/Consultation Appointments.
  • Maintain Knowledge of State and Federal Legislative and Regulatory Laws and Rules.
  • Promotes and Practices the Mission Vision and Values of Client
  • Provides After-Hours Call Coverage for Patient Needs That Are of an Urgent Nature.
  • Other Responsibilities May be Required.
