Scope Summary

TheElectrical/ITInspectorwillsupportLAWAsQualityAssurance&ConstructionInspection Division across multiple projects within LAWAs Capital Improvement Program.

• SuccessfullyhiredCandidatesmustprovideProofofNFPA70Estandardstrainingwithinthe last3yearsandProofofCal-OSHA30hr.trainingwithinthelast4yearspriortoassignment

• SuccessfullyhiredcandidatesmusthaveLAWASIDAbadgepriortoofficialstart.

• Mustbeabletoworkanyassignedshift-dayswingornight - asrequiredtomeetthe contractors construction schedule.

ProfessionalExperienceLevel/MinimumQualifications

• Electrical/ITinspectionstaffshallhave3yearsormoreexperienceperformingelectrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.

• CurrentICCCertificationasaCommercialElectricalInspector Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years Training & knowledge of NFPA -70 70E & 72.

• Fallprotectionandharnesstraining.

PreferredQualificationsandExperience:

• Experienceatthejourney-levelasanelectricianwithafocusontheinstallationandrepairof electrical systems in public works institutional commercial or industrial settings.

• Experienceoverseeingandensuringcompliancewithbuildingcodesandregulationson signicant construction projects.

• Involvementincomplexprojectsthatrequirecoordinationwithmultiplestakeholders including contractors engineers and city officials.

• Expertiseinidentifyingandaddressingdeficienciesensuringthatallaspectsofconstruction meet the required standards.

• Mustbeopentolearningtheprescriptiveitemsbytheagency.
• Astrongunderstandingofdiversecoderequirements
• Excellentcommunicationandtimemanagementskills.

• Highschooldiploma(orequivalent)

EssentialJobDuties

• Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of electrical and IT systems across building and terminal construction projects ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specicationsreviewandinterpretconstructiondocumentsincludingblueprintsandshop drawings submittals RFIs and change orders.
• Demonstratesstrongproficiencyinpreparingcomprehensivedailyinspectionreportsthat clearlydocumenttheWHOWHATWHENWHEREandHOWofallobservedconstruction activitiesensuringaccuracyclarityandaccountabilityintrackingprogressandidentifying issues deficiencies or safety concerns in a timely manner.
• Verifycontractorcompliancewithlocalandnationalelectricalcodes(7070E 72) and LAWA-specific standards.
• Trackanddocumenttime-and-materialworkfieldchangesandjobquantities
• Assistinvalidatingcontractorprogresspaymentrequestsbasedonanapprovedscheduleof values.

• Supportspecialinspectionsandtestingactivitiescoordinatingwithengineerscontractors and third-party agencies as needed.

• Performinspectionsofelectricalinstallationsincludingbutnotlimitedto:

• Undergroundutilitiesandductbanks
• High-voltageswitchgearandelectricalpanels
• Conduitracksconductorsandgroundingsystems
• Interiorandexteriorlightingsystems
• Firelifesafetysystemsincludingsmoke/heatdetectorsandFM-200suppressionsystems

• Electricalshutdownslockout/tagoutproceduresandbreakercoordination

  InspectITinfrastructureinstallationssuchas:

• Low-voltagesystems(voice/datasecurityaccesscontrol)
• Doorcardreaderssecuritycamerasandpublicaddress(P.A.)systems
• Communicationcablingandequipmentrooms

Hardware/Software Knowledge

• KnowledgeofProjectManagementInformationSoftwareusedforinspection/document control (i.e. Microsoft Office Outlook Xcel Word PM Web Adobe Pro Bluebeam etc.)

• Computer prociency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents eficientlyincludingchangeorderssubmittalsRFIsandotherinspectiondocumentswith minimal supervision.
