The State of South Carolina is looking for an Information Systems Architect - Project Lead
Why is this position open: This position is open to support ongoing cloud modernization efforts operational continuity and expansion of AWS-based services following the completion of a prior contract term.
Will close to submissions on 6/10 at 5:00PM EST.
Interview Process: 1 round virtual (2nd round if needed)
Duration of the Contract: 12 months
Possibility for Extension: Yes
Work Location: Role is 100% remote - due to Governors orders this position may become fully onsite with no notice. Candidates should be available to relocation to SC to start the onsite right away if required. First two days will be onsite for training and obtaining a security badge.
Candidate location: No SC residency required. Open to nationwide candidates who are comfortable working EST hours. Must be able to relocate if required.

Required Skills
6 years of experience supporting enterprise systems
3 years of hands-on AWS experience in development or administration
3 years of experience with AWS core services (EC2 VPC IAM S3 and Lambda)
3 years of experience with Amazon Connect and/or contact center technologies
3 years of experience integrating APIs serverless functions and cloud-native services
3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation
3 years of experience with security best practices logging and monitoring in AWS
3 years of experience with scripting (Python Bash or equivalent)
Certification
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional OR AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI/ML integrations and prompt engineering
Experience with hybrid cloud or third-party integrations
Experience with cost optimization and FinOps
Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and Hybrid Cloud Architectures
Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)
| SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The project supports the design development administration and ongoing operation of AWS-hosted applications infrastructure and services. The AWS Developer / Administrator will be responsible for supporting cloud-native and hybrid workloads ensuring secure and compliant operations and enabling scalable solutions across multiple AWS services. The role will support production and non-production environments and must ensure alignment with applicable security standards architectural guidelines and operational best practices. |

| POSITION DESCRIPTION
The AWS Developer / Administrator will provide technical expertise for the design development deployment administration and support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. This role works closely with cloud engineering application development security and operations teams to deliver secure resilient and scalable cloud solutions. The candidate will support AWS infrastructure application services integrations and automation efforts while ensuring operational stability performance and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
