Industrial Millwright (Level 5+)

Wage: $28.44 - $37.43

Weyerhaeusers Montana Wood Products is currently looking for a Millwright 5 or better to join our Kalispell Complex. Our Kalispell Complex supports both a plywood and a sawmill facility. A qualified candidate would have a thorough comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance reliability and processes and techniques to safely repair modify install and maintain the facility and high-tech manufacturing equipment.

As an Industrial Millwright at Kalispell Plywood you will have the opportunity to:

• Support manufacturing by maximizing plant uptime and provide support for facility systems in a safe manner while contributing to corporate plant and departmental goals.
• Work with a team of millwrights and electricians to deliver preventative and routine maintenance on plant equipment troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical problems and work on capital projects including upgrading and installation of equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints; construct and fabricate mill equipment including but not limited to welding and burning.
• Deliver preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Assist with or perform complex repairs.
• Gain working knowledge of Weyerhaeusers fire protection system.

Experience

• One year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Mechanical ability is required

Specific Skills

• Be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Concept knowledge of welding and burning (on the job training provided to further develop skills)
• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and read/interpret schematic drawings
• Ability to work closely with supervisors electricians millwrights and others; be a team player/leader; good verbal and written communication skills; and demonstrate positive attitude.
• Demonstrate ability to work safely and care for tools and equipment
• Self-starter with the ability to work with and without direct supervision
• Knowledge and ability to use Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Show proficiency in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) standards
• Demonstrate basic computer skills including Maintenance Management Software MS Office Email and Web based programs

Additional Requirements

• Will be required to own tools on required list
• Must be comfortable working above the ground at times and outside as necessary working in all-weather environments
• Candidates must have the ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions.
• A sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production and minimizing down time is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment.
• Tasks performed involve work with equipment and materials that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and the following of these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environment.
• Must have good performance safety and attendance records
• Willingness to work overtime odd hours weekends holidays and other shifts as required
• It is a general requirement that at least one year be spent at any current grade level before advancement to next level. Time-in-grade requirements for other advancements may occasionally be waived by Maintenance Management for extraordinary performance or technical achievement.

Job Demands

• The Millwright position is a Very Heavy Duty job. Very Heavy Duty involves exertion of more than 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or more than 50 pounds frequently and/or more than 20 pounds continuously to move objects. Essential duties include but are not limited to stooping climbing and crawling in and over machines for repair purposes and the ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs.
