Job Summary

This position is eligible to be hired at the HR Business Partner level II (Associate HR Business Partner) or III (HR Business Partner) based on experience and qualifications.

Associate HR Business Partner

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in related field and 2 years of relevant experience.

Salary Range: $65000 - $85000

HR Business Partner:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in related field and 5 years of relevant experience.

Salary Range: $85000 - $115000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partners with business units using a deep understanding of their business strategy and strategic goals to advise on Human Resources matters including employee relations performance management workforce planning and organizational development
  • Works closely with operations management and employees to support and drive a positive and inclusive culture. Facilitates strategies designed to foster employee engagement and retention
  • Provides guidance and counsel on employee relations matters including conducting investigations in compliance with university policies and applicable laws. Partners with leadership to address and resolve employee concerns and recommends appropriate corrective action when necessary
  • Supports performance management efforts by advising on goal setting coaching and development strategies. Provides resources and training recommendations to strengthen manager capability and performance outcomes
  • Serves as a liaison to Human Resources. Provides expert policy guidance and interpretation. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations along with university policies procedures and practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of HR administration including talent acquisition compensation performance management and employee relations principles and best practices
  • Skill in analytical and critical thinking to develop solutions to business and people issues and use data analytics to support insights and develop actions
  • Skill in written verbal and interpersonal communication to influence and articulate a variety of topics to different and diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy cultural awareness and confidentiality

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Job Level Overview

Specialized Contributor Level 3 - A senior-level role requiring broad understanding of the profession or field of work. Independently leads diverse and often complex assignments projects or programs. May act as a mentor and guide less experienced staff.
