HR Generalist

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager the HR Generalist functions as the support person for general human resources related matters. This position is responsible for supporting employee relations benefits recruiting and a variety of other human resources functions. This position will provide support in the planning analyzing and execution of policies procedures and programs.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with development and oversight of implementation of personnel policies and procedures
2. Interprets and applies established HR policiesensuringcompliance with Federaland State employment laws
3. Coach counsel and assist supervisors and staff regarding issues and concerns
4. Assist in conducting investigations and ensure timely and responsible resolution
5. Assist in maintaining and promoting a safe and healthy environment for employees
6. Ensure HR processes and procedures are consistently administered
7. Maintain HR database ensuring the accuracy of data andcompiling of HR reports
8. Prepare government reports as required
9. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports
10. Keep abreast of employment law and current legislation in relation to HR
11. Represent the company for all unemployment hearings/claims
12. Manage the recruitment effortsincluding: reviewing job descriptions placing job postings on applicable recruitment platformsparticipate in interviews evaluate applicant skills and making recommendations regarding applicants qualifications and skills
13. Develop and maintain relationshipswith universities and other recruitment sources
14. Participate and work collaboratively with the training team in the development and execution of new employee orientation programs and procedures for new hires
15. Track applicants and complete quarterly statistical information regarding new hires and the onboarding process
16. Assist with the processing of payroll
17. Participate in planning and execution of employee engagement events and activities
18. Serve as site subject matter expert for HRM systems
19. Onsite contact for employee benefit inquires including coordination of open enrollment process and new hire benefit orientation
20. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree in business human resources or related field preferred; or combination of equivalent education and experience
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
• 3-5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Most of the job is performed in an office environment with some time spent on the plant manufacturing floor.

EFFORT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending stooping and stretching manual dexterity the ability to distinguish letters occasional lifting and the use of office equipment. The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
