As aHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineerwithin General MotorsAV Core Infrastructure team you will design build andmaintainadvanced HIL systems that accelerate validation of embedded controllers andperceptionsystems across next-generationvehicles.Youllbridge mechanical electrical and software disciplines to deliver scalable reliable and maintainable test infrastructure enabling data-driven developmentof automated driving features.
You will collaborate with systems engineers embedded software developers integration labs and operations teams to ensure our HIL platformsremainat the forefront of validation capabilitypowering the test flywheel that drives GMs future of safe autonomous mobility.
Key Responsibilities
Build HIL benches with an emphasis on standardization (wire colors connectors) and safety (like E-stop correct wire gauge circuit protection fuse).
Maintain tools and equipment for the lab and team.
Produce and develop detailed documentation for all build and maintenance. proceduresand team processes.
Design build and set up equipment and test fixtures;operateandmaintainequipment used for testing.
Electrical support - harness and cable builds debugging and PCB board rework
Ability to runversion controlledtest scripts or software.
Observe all safety standards andmaintaina secure safecleanand healthy work environment.
Follow operating instructions use protective equipment when and use equipment and materials properly.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mechanical Electrical or Mechatronics Engineeringor equivalent hands-on experience in HIL lab automation or robotics integration.
2yearstechnical experience in electro-mechanical computer automotive marine electronics robotics aerospace or similar industry/industries.
Ability to proficiently read and interpret system architecture diagrams mechanical drawings electrical schematics and network diagrams.
Knowledge in use of standardelectronicslab tools including multimeters oscilloscopes AC/DC powersuppliesand electronic loads etc.
Knowledge ofdifferent typesof electrical outlets and different plug configurations.
Electrical troubleshooting and board debug experience.
Working knowledge of Windows Mac and Linux operating systems.
Ability to work in a cooperative rapidly changing team setting with aggressive goals and challenging timelines.
Strong workethic quality workmanship and team oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and/or knowledge with any of the following:Labview GitHub MATLAB Python JIRA and/or Confluence experience.
Skilled in CAD and prototype part design (NX best SolidWorks or similar okay).
Familiarity withPythonCAN/LIN tools (VectorKvaser etc.) and test automation frameworks.
Compensation:The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paidin accordance withapplicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positionslocatedoutside of New York Colorado California or Washington.
The salary range for this role is$145100 to $200000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentivepayprogram offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
