Highway Sign Installer

The Highway Sign Installer is responsible for installing repairing and maintaining roadway signs and delineation devices on state and county routes. Working under the direction of the crew lead this position assists with sign installation equipment maintenance inventory management and emergency response activities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install repair and replace roadway signs posts and delineators.
• Operate hand and power tools including drills saws ratchets and chainsaws.
• Safely operate assigned flatbed trucks and equipment to transport materials to job sites.
• Construct and repair barricades and traffic control devices.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of signs posts and related materials.
• Assist with emergency response efforts including nights and weekends when required.
• Follow all safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain Traffic Control Certification.
• Willingness to learn highway sign installation maintenance and traffic control practices.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools power tools trucks and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand walk bend kneel climb ladders and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot cold wet and noisy environments including around active traffic.
