What You Will Do:
We are seeking a High Throughput Experimentation Chemist to support reaction optimization and analog synthesis efforts aimed at standardizing and improving these workflows.This is a full-time on-site opportunity inRockville MD.
Perform chemical and biochemical reactions andappropriate analyticalanalyses.
Collect and review data; analyze and interpret data and results.
Executechemical synthesis and optimization of small molecule probes for use in biological research.
Purify compoundssubmittedby chemists.
Devise synthetic routes to target molecules; produce 10-100 member libraries with acceptable purity and deliver quantities to support biological assays.
Synthesize andoptimizechemical probes for potency and solubility.
Formulate chemistry plans for the development of soluble potent selective small molecule probes of biological function; analyze samples using validated analytical methods for ongoing studies.
Validateanalysis methods for the quantification of cell kinetics.
Work with staff in identitypurityand stability analysis.
Perform bulk-synthesispurificationand formulation efforts for advanced testing in animal models.
Analyze samples using validated analytical methods for ongoing studies.
Perform organic synthesis in support of the medicinal chemistry program.
Prepare reports to include a summary of the samples (experimental or clinical) the modifications measured and the resultsvalidated;writepapers and abstracts detailing research efforts and results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
What You Will Need:
Masters degree in chemistry.
MinimumTWO (2)years ofchemical analysisexperiencein a laboratory setting.
Demonstrated experience with common analytical chemistry techniques such asHigh-Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC)and/ orMass Spectrometry(MS).
Proven ability to document findings as shown throughitems such as peer reviewed publications conference presentations/posters orsimilaractivities.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.
