Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning repairing and maintenance duties and organizing and coordinating the daily work of custodians.

Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

1. Cleans offices restrooms library steps classrooms hallways entrance ways auditorium gymnasiums cafeteria windows mirrors etc. including vacuuming dusting sweeping moping etc.

2. Orders stocks and distributes supplies.

3. Checks calendar for daily activities.

4. Activates and de-activates alarm system; unlocks and turns lights on at beginning of day; locks and turns lights off at end of day.

5. Makes minor maintenance and repairs on building and equipment.

6. Cleans after special events emergencies etc.

7. Checks fire extinguishers monthly.

8. Maintains equipment cleanliness and working order.

9. Coordinates all work in the building.

10. Maintains Building Usage Sheets.

11. Reports work orders as needed.

12. Assists in evaluations.

13. Acts as mediator between faculty and custodians.

14. Handles complaints.

15. Removes snow trims shrubs cleans sidewalks and other general maintenance of the grounds.

16. Performs other related essential duties as required.

17. Be able to lead large groups of custodians during summer cleaning.

Internal candidates (WCSC Part-Time and Full-Time custodians) may order to qualify internal candidates must have a rating of Meets or Exceeds expectations in ALL areas of the most recent evaluation.
