Position Summary
The Graduate Advisor II is responsible for reviewing transfer work providing academic advice and assisting incoming
students with enrollment for the current semester.
Essential Job Duties
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Understands all ECU degree requirements
Understands all ECU program articulations
Admits students to Graduate Program
Compiles advising files for each student assigned
Develops a degree plan for student
Provides academic advice and helps students enroll in recommended courses
Performs degree auditing and graduation processing
Helps with Graduate Commencement
Travels for necessary training
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Qualifications
Demonstrate working knowledge of office practices and methods.
Coordinate work with other employees.
Organize work effectively conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based on
university policy and procedures.
Establish and maintain effective work relationships with all stakeholdersfaculty staff students and the community.
Provide a friendly customer-service environment.
Maintain confidentiality regarding protected information.
Manage deadlines on multiple projects.
Ability to work unsupervised
Effectively use office equipment and software including but not limited to the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
Licenses/Certifications
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example
Must be a professional credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
Ability to communicate in a courteous manner

Occasionally lift and move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
Work Environment

The work is performed in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels from conversations and standard office
equipment. The facility experiences elevated temperatures and humidity particularly during warmer months due to
limited climate control.
