We are seeking an experienced Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) Engineer to play a critical role in advancing enterprise-wide data governance security compliance and information protection initiatives. This position is ideal for a highly technical professional who combines deep expertise in Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security services with a strong understanding of legal regulatory and risk management requirements.
Working closely with stakeholders across Legal Information Governance eDiscovery and IT teams you will design implement and optimize governance and compliance solutions that protect sensitive information strengthen security controls support legal hold and eDiscovery processes and ensure regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities:
Implement configure and maintain Microsoft Purview solutions including Data Map Unified Catalog Information Protection and Compliance Manager.
Design and execute legal hold and eDiscovery strategies utilizing Microsoft Purview capabilities.
Develop implement and enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies procedures and best practices.
Conduct compliance assessments audits and risk evaluations to strengthen governance and security posture.
Generate compliance governance and security reporting through Power BI and Microsoft Purview dashboards.
Design and implement information protection strategies across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
Configure and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized disclosure.
Establish and maintain data retention and records management policies aligned with regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage data classification labeling and information lifecycle management strategies.
Continuously evaluate and improve security controls across collaboration platforms and business systems.
Support identity and access management initiatives across Microsoft 365 services.
Manage and support Entra ID environments including federation managed identities and service principals.
Enforce access controls and identity governance policies across the organization.
Collaborate with Legal IT Information Governance and business stakeholders to align security and compliance objectives.
Partner with application owners and system administrators to implement governance and security controls.
Provide training and guidance on data governance information protection and compliance best practices.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for policies procedures controls and incident response activities.
Support business continuity disaster recovery and risk management initiatives.
Participate in ongoing compliance improvement projects and emerging technology evaluations.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Law or a related field.
5 8 years of experience managing and securing Microsoft 365 environments.
Proven expertise with Microsoft Purview Entra ID Exchange Online SharePoint Online and Exchange On-Premises.
Strong understanding of legal hold processes privacy regulations information governance and compliance frameworks.
Experience implementing Azure Information Protection and data-at-rest encryption technologies.
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience supporting identity federation and business continuity initiatives.
Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
