Gifted Teacher (Elementary)

DuBois Integrity Academy (DIA) is hiring a Gifted Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. DIA STEM Academys academic program has two pillars that support substantial improvements in achievement: STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We use theme-based interdisciplinary integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate highly qualified Gifted Education Teacher to design and deliver advanced differentiated learning experiences for identified gifted and talented students. The ideal candidate inspires intellectual curiosity fosters creative and critical thinking and supports the social-emotional needs unique to gifted learners across grade levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop plan and implement a differentiated curriculum aligned with gifted learners readiness interests and learning profiles

• Provide direct instruction through pull-out push-in cluster grouping or self-contained gifted program models

• Design project-based inquiry-driven and real-world problem-solving learning experiences

• Administer and interpret gifted identification assessments; maintain student records and growth documentation

• Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction within the regular classroom

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and program activities

• Support the social-emotional development of gifted students including perfectionism asynchronous development and twice-exceptional needs

• Participate in IEP 504 and gifted education plan meetings as applicable

• Stay current on research-based best practices in gifted education and apply them to instruction

• Coordinate academic competitions enrichment events and extracurricular opportunities (e.g. Olympiad Science Bowl Debate)

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred)

• Valid state teaching certificate or license including Gifted Education endorsement or certification

• Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience

• Demonstrated experience working with gifted advanced or high-ability learners

• Strong knowledge of gifted education theory identification practices and differentiation strategies

Preferred qualifications

• Masters degree in Gifted Education Curriculum & Instruction or related field

• Experience with curriculum compacting acceleration and tiered assignment design

• Familiarity with talent development frameworks (e.g. Renzulli Bloom Kaplan)

• Experience supporting twice-exceptional (2e) learners

• Proficiency with education technology tools and digital learning platforms
