Responsible for planning supervising performing and coordinating all phases of pre-commissioning hot commissioning maintenance repair and inspection of mechanical systems electrical systems and service work in new or remodeled facilities. Responsible for planning day to day activities for Commissioning Techs. May be asked to do other activities within the company construction group like overseeing 3rd Party testing etc. to further construction for commissioning to commence.

Essential Job Functions:
Ability to interpret site specifications wiring schematics IFC Drawings
Assist in lay out of work for crew or crews in a solar field project
Preplan daily activities and ensure crew productivity to meet job schedule
Monitor quality control of work in place by Commissioning Techs
Support the coordination of tooling needs and certifications for testing equipment
Comply with all documentation requirements and fill out all project related reports such as:Daily Reports Safety Reports ESRs Inspection Reports commissioning documents time sheets etc.
Support with the coordination of equipment needs ensure operators are qualified and ensure that all equipment is maintained and repairs are done in a timely manner
Support jobsite Commissioning Manager to coordinate activities of projects commissioning phase
May perform related tech work as required
Utilize various softwares for tracking recording and executing commissioning tests
Implement better testing methods for production in all aspects of job to strengthen best practices within the company
Monitor Commissioning Techs for quality issues
Monitor work areas to ensure quality work is being completed
Look for ways to improve safety quality and productivity
Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
Train and instruct crew members in safe work practices for assigned tasks
Audit safe work practices ensuring PPE is available and used properly
Assist Human Resources and Commissioning Manager by interviewing hiring training appraising work performance and addressing complaints of employees in the field
Directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of commissioning techs
Support ESRs for all employees with a change in job status (transfer laid off terminated)
Conduct regular performance reviews of crew members as directed.
Manage up to six or more employees
Train and mentor new Commissioning Techs
Invest time and effort in enhancing apprentices skills and knowledge champion the process
Provide positive environment to support coaching and mentoring of apprentices
Commit to accurate classification to ensure PWA (Prevailing Wage & Apprenticeship) compliance when applicable
Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Five years relevant technical experience
One year of direct management experience of leading teams
Electrical Turnover and Walkdown Experience
Understanding of AC/DC
OSHA 30 First Aid/CPR NFPA Arc Flash certifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the companys Zero Injury principles
Proficient in use of testing equipment and testing technics
Capable of supervising a project of six or more craft workers
Read blueprints and wire schematics proficiently
Ability to write and comprehend Commissioning test procedures and documentation
Proficient in LOTO and Isolations
Ability to motivate workers lead by example and communicate effectively
Computer experience in Microsoft Office and E-mail Communication preferred
Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines
Working Environment:
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts electrical hazards electrical shock precarious places and extreme heat
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
